about the designer: Katharine Kidd
Raised in Atlanta, the L.A.-based designer Katharine Kidd Shippey launched her eponymous line in 2010.
Kidd has earned a fevered following thanks to her flattering, feminine silhouettes and edgy custom-designed prints.
Fit-and-flare and drop-waist dresses ($475 to $650) are mixed with sculptural separates ($155 to $825) that are equally
appealing to both ladies who lunch and corporate power players. She states, “I design clothes for real women—modern
day women with busy lives,” notes the multitasking mother of two. “Whether they are working women or not, all women
are filling multiple roles, and they need clothes that reflect that.”
